Skinny Wino was started in 2019 by a mom and daughter as a fun site with healthy wine tips. It quickly morphed into the concept that feeling freakin awesome the day after drinking is crazy important. There is no fixing waking up feeling like complete crap. Damage is done at that point. Wine drinkers need to be proactive and it is so simple. If you pound a bottle wine, the next day you cannot be dragging. You either push through it in an irritable state of mind and watch the clock all day begging for a nap or you end up laying around ordering pizza.
In short, Skinny Wino is still a place for healthy wine tips, but has learned that the real tip is feeling good the next day. We shed light from a different perspective that every wine drinker should ponder over while drinking a glass or two or five of vino. Cheers!
Having a glass or two of wine will not prevent you from dropping weight. The key is what you eat while drinking wine. Studies have shown that as your inhibition drops while drinking wine, you are more likely to consume greasy foods. We all know that pizza and breadsticks are not good for us, but seem not to care by the second or third glass of wine. The good news is that if you eat good normally, you should be able to control your eating while drinking per the conclusion of the study.
A large study published in 2010 concluded that women who drank wine and alcohol gained less weight than women who did not. The study was published in the Arch Intern Med. 2010;170(5):453-461 and showed an inverse relationship between alcohol consumption and obesity. This means for the 19,220 women in the study who were followed over 12.9 years, those that drank wine and alcohol, and in particular red wine, gained less weight than the non drinkers.
A study showed that consuming wine without food converted white fat into calorie burning beige fat (and thus weight loss). The study’s authors linked this result to the anti-oxidant resveratrol found in wine, berries and grapes. The study was entitled “Drinking Wine Before Bed Can Help You Lose Weight.”
